I have only started making something of my garden in the past few years and will appreciate guidance as I fumble my way to a better understanding of plant psychology. My garden is very small and changes microclimates every square foot or so. It is on the west side of the house up against the fence and so tends to have no sun early and late in the day and it gets cooked in the afternoons. In addition, we have hot summers and mild but very soggy winters so the \"perennials\" that survive the August heat get rotted roots in the winter thereby becoming annuals. I have grown weary of replanting each year so this year I am trying bulbs. It seems sensible since the growing season here is really September to June. If anyone has any wisdom to share, I would be happy to hear it.
