I've been dotty about gardening since the 70s.

I've been lucky(?) enough to have set up two gardens from scratch in Canberra; maintained and expanded an 80 year old cottage garden in Melbourne; maintained a lush, tropical garden in Perth (where if you throw enough water at a patch it will grow what you want); and now look after a large NW facing balcony garden in Sydney.

I am a fuschia 'freak', however a Canberra and Melbourne climate suit them better than Sydney's. They are not very happy in Sydney's summer humidity.

My next move will be to a northern facing apartment with an even larger balcony, and more room to grow fuschias, roses in pots, and herbs. And to enjoy another Blue Burmese cat. 'Ambush' moved into that big garden in the sky some time ago, but shared most of my gardening tragedies and symphonies, and is still sadly missed.
