We have a wildlife pond that is a pleasure to watch. Loads of toads, frogs, stickelbacks, and grown up newts but have not seen the splash of little newtlets. But lots of places to hide. My family think I'm mad because I go out at night with a torch and watch the activity--and give the toads and frogs names (including the little male gang of frogs Sam, Frodo, Merry, and Pippin otherwise known as the Hoppits). But from this website I now know I'm not the only person with these strange nighttime habits.
