My garden is in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. We moved to this house almost four years ago, but I feel like I'm really just getting started on the garden here. Wildlife (deer, voles, etc.) is a persistent problem. Well, actually I like the deer. Hate those voles, though.

An even bigger problem is the endless English ivy, but I'm getting a great deal of satisfaction from ripping it out and replacing it with a variety of shade-loving plants. In my limited sunny spaces I grow roses, irises, daylilies, echinacea, Russian sage, veronica, salvia, achillea, and assorted herbs.
