I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (USDA 9/Sunset 14). I am new to gardening, and I working on giving my house curb appeal.

I have a tropicalesque garden out front. I have some beautiful hibiscus, bird of paradise, and fortnight lilies. To add fragrance, I have three sweet olives growing. I found out about these great plants on Garden Web. I thought in a tropicalesque garden, I would be limited to jasmine for fragrance. I'm glad I learned about sweet olives since I find the smell of jasmine revolting. No offense to jasmine lovers.

I also love the Household Finances forum on That Home Site. I gotta have the cash to buy all those pretty plants!

I have learned so much from you seasoned gardeners. My hibiscus love the epsom salts and earthworm castings.
