I am a plant enthusiast. I started having interest in plants since I was 7 but I am new to gardening in the US. If I have another chance to go to college which is likely impossible on my part, I would get horticulture. I would like to be a Texas Master Gardener. I love plants that have both foliar and floral uniqueness. I also love drought tolerant plants which is best for Texas weather. I love antique roses and hybrid ones, salvias, tropical hibiscus, daffodils, tulips, yaupon hollies, lantanas, daisies, and daylilies and small ornamental grasses. I am interested also in learning how to properly prune grapes, fruit trees and other plants. I am interested in learning how to hybridize tropical hibiscus and I am in the process of researchng on how to do it. We have a very small pecan orchard and I would like to learn more about how to take care of the pecan trees.
My Mom is a plant enthusiast and is better than I am. She was my garden mentor. She can propagate almost anything!!! She has a lot of orchids and bougainevillas in her garden in the Philippines.
