I love gardening, and collecting plants. Seed saving is of large interest to me, I feel as if it's one of my duties to preserve the varieties of plants that exist while they still do. I think that many people are scared to get their hands dirty; digging in the dirt nowadays is seen as something lowly. But that's where many cultures and religions started, and I'm personally one of those people who ascribes the degradation of society to our loss of connection with the earth. Because when you have a better connection with the earth, you have a better connection with yourself. And your relation ship with other's is a reflection of your relationship with yourself; that's why gardeners are usually such awesome people. And so many people so gravely need this that they don't even know which direction to turn. The dirt is my home in reality. I'm also studying for botany, and planning to transfer soon in pursuing a bachelors degree. I'm a master composter, and am now employing organic and lasagna gardening techniques for the first time, for which I've attended classes for. I'm going to be attaining a rabbit for manure for these purposes. I'm planning on my garden and trade list growing very large this year, as my seed collection has by the help of all of my wonderful fellow gardenweb-ers. I'm a part of my school's environmental club and have been for well over two years now, I've been exposed to much material on the subject, and I've been active in environmental community events. I love crafts too; knitting, pottery, sewing, embroidery, jewelry making, or pretty much anything I can get my hands into. I'm a romantic, a realist, and very empathic. I have four cats (Tiger, Sweet pea, Peanut, Nibbler)and a dog (Dahlia), no children currently and no husband, but a very sweet boyfriend who always provides a good hug when needed.
