Two years ago we bought a "country" home with sadly neglected gardens, ground-cover almost everywhere anything was growing. We've started two perennial gardens and we're trying to bring back an old herb garden. Plans are on the books for creating a Japanese garden in a corner created where two wings of our A-frame home extend. Since Japanese gardens are scarce in this area, finding the large stones we hope to place in the garden will probably be our greatest challenge. Building up our soil is another challenge we're facing and would enjoy hearing from anyone out there who can offer suggestions.
