We just purchased our home. The backyard was bare of plants outside an apple tree and a walnut a little further out. The yard declines into a flood plain after goind down a couple of terraces. We have a public golf course beyond that. It really is gorgeous and I'm developing a perennial garden that will begin in the corners of the yard and progress down the terraces. The color scheme is pink and white thus far with clematis over a trellis that already contains grape vine, rose mallow in a far corner, some feather reed grass, lots of small perennials and groundcovers in the mid corner (there's a rock trough for run-off that divides the backyard) that can be viewed from our walkout basement, and more. Were diving in head first and hoping to create a paradise.
