I'm a registered nurse and work in a cardiac special care unit. I enjoy my work but love gardening and learning about various plants. It started with a small square dug out of my lawn in the backyard in which I planted a lonely tomato plant and 2-3 other vegetables. I have since torn up over a third of my backyard to garden. I love trying unique & heirloom veggies and try something new each year along with tried & true favorites. Growing tomatoes has become a passion and take great pride in praise from my neighbors on taste, LOL. I am married, have 2 teen boys, 4 cats and a huge black lab so I love to escape to the garden during the summer! I have canned much of this year's crop from the help I received from the Harvest clan where I lurk and learn. Linda Lou, gran, and Mrs. Barth have been immensely helpful and soooooooo kind to us newbies. I also lurk on the tomato forum and find great advice there although most of it may be over my head.
