My primary residence is in Brooklyn, N.Y., where I have a lovely but shady garden full of hostas and ferns. My husband and I also have a cabin in upstate N.Y. with three cleared acres and seven separate gardens. There we have plenty of sun but also deer, so no hostas. I became interested in gardening just a few years ago and have learned a lot, but it seems the acquisition of knowledge in gardening is endless!
