I have quite a few houseplants and have been collecting since the late '60s. Sometimes I have more and sometimes I have less but I would be lost without them. My favorites change from time to time, but mainly are ficus (have quite a collection), succulents, olive, fig, and aralias. I tend to lean more towards trees that I can keep in pots indoors and out.

My gardening outside is done mostly on my deck in containers. Right now, I have a weeping cherry and a peach tree, both in pots, surrounded by other pots containing various flowering plants such as pansies, petunias, etc. Once we move, I will change my gardening habits and bring my garden into the yard. But for now, because of cats in the neighborhood using the gardens around here as kitty litter boxes, my plants are safer on my deck.
