I garden on a 5 acre lot in central MD. After experimenting and planting lots of different types of perennials over the years (including quite a few that were big, invasive mistakes!), in the last few years I have begun to concentrate mostly on native plantings, especially those that attract birds, butterflies and other wildlife (except deer, which I am trying to repel, not attract!).
