I make soil with the earthworms in my yard. I provide the organically grown produce and grains and yard wastes and they turn it into compost. With the compost, I fertilize my garden.

I'm learning about other forms of fertilizer which are made by various industries from hazardous wastes. Those chemicals kill earthworms and other beneficial microbes in the garden. They make the earth one big hazardous waste site. No wonder cancers are rising in the USA.

Since I've been poisoned with pesticides and again, with xylene, which is also an inert ingredient in insecticides, herbicides and other pesticides, I look for ways to garden and clean my home without the use of synthetic chemicals.

Two years ago, Hurricane Lili gave me sunshine, and for the first time since living here, we have a new climate in our garden. Hence, instead of growing shade loving plants, I now am growing sun and partial shade plantings.
