My name is Mike and I garden in zone 6b in northeast Tennessee. I live near the borders of southwestern Virginia and western North Carolina. I enjoy traveling with my twin brother, and spending time outdoors with my Chinese pug dog Max. I collect large growing elephant ears/taros. I am always on the lookout for varieties that I don't already have. I also collect Cannas, especially varieties with striped or variegated leaves, and extra tall sorts. I also grow antique roses, fragrant violets, waterlilies, daylilies, reblooming bearded irises, camellias, bananas, figs, variegated philodendrons, and plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. I love to trade plants!

Elephant Ears/Taros in my collection: A. macrorhizza, A. macrorhizza "Alba-Variegata", A. Portodora, Colocasia antiquorum "Illustris', C. "Black Magic", C. esculenta, C.esculenta "Burgundy Stem", C. esculenta "Chicago Harlequin", Xanthosoma sagittaefolia, and X. violacea.

Elephant Ears/Taros I am looking for: Alocasia "New Guinea Gold", A. macrorhizza "Red-Stem", A. macrorhizza "Aurea-Variegata", Colocasia esculenta "Elepaio" and others from Hawaii and Samoa, C. e. "Yellow Splash", C. "Black Marble", C. fontanesii "Black Stem", C. "Nancy's Revenge", and the following Xanthosomas- "Blue Giant", Chartreuse Giant", "Golden Delicious", "Lime Zinger", et cetera.

Oops! I guess these elephant ear/taro lists should have gone on my exchange page.

I live in: United States

My zone is: z6b/TN
