I recently moved to a new place and started a new garden so everything is still in development. I was able to transplant many of my favorite items from my old garden with the help of some awesome friends I met here on Gardenweb. My central Texas / Edwards Plateau / hill country garden currently has 9 large raised beds placed against the fence of the small yard. The house/yard are in the older hill country style, lots of little rectangles. I love learning about native and xeric plants and I am a member of the Austin Iris Society and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. I love mixing tall bearded iris with native (especially deer resistant!) plants. I also have a weakness for silver/variegated foliage and climbing vines like clematis and passiflora, of which there are many native Texas varieties. My favorite color is purple so my garden reflects all shades. I also grow organic and heirloom veggies. When I’m not in the garden I’m a librarian.
