I grow heirloom vegetables and fruit organically in SW Pennsylvania and breed heirloom dogs (English shepherds -- aka farm collies). I do a lot of home canning in the fall, and eat something from my garden almost every day of the year. Im a political scientist by education, dog trainer and writer by profession, a search and rescue dog handler by avocation.
