Hi everyone! Winter has definitely arrived Maine! It is quite challenging gardening in Maine. We have bitterly cold winters and very warm summers. Some of my gardens include: a shrub border, a bog garden, a 30 raised perennial bed, a vegetable garden, a nursery bed(for all those babies bought at church sales that might not yet be mature), a woodland garden, a lilac and forsythia bed, a bulb garden, two annual bed gardens, many containers, etc. I especially like plants that attract all forms of wildlife including hummingbirds, butterflies, racoons, chipmunks, birds, etc. Fragrant plants are just the best!
My 3 cats, whom always remain indoors, love to birdwatch at the windows and on our screened in porch.

Many of the plants I have include bearded irises, iris versicolor(great for bogs or normal soil), phlox, violets, hostas, daylilies, peonies, hardy roses, daffodils, filipendula, gentiana, daphnes, clethra shrubs, physostegia, monarda, lupines, honeysuckle(which I am in the process of trying to root, etc.

My big love is daylilies. Especially doubles and spiders!
To date my collection is up to about 1400 and growing! Hopefully, this summer Ill start selling daylilies on weekends. Wish me luck!
