I live in Riverton, Utah on 1/3 of an acre. We are revising the landscaping of a 12 year old property to get more privacy, more variety, easier maintenance. We are trying to use plants that are better suited to the local conditions than those that were here when we bought the property 2 years ago. Some of our limitations include alkaline clay soil, alkaline water that can get somewhat saline after mid summer (especially during a dry summer like this one), and two dogs that will eat almost any toxic plant material.
