During the late summer of 2007, my wife and I purchased a home on a small farm in south central Ohio in Adams County. Named \"Appalachian Heirloom Plant Farm\", this will allow us to expand our efforts of preserving Appalachian Heirlooms and eastern Native American heirlooms. We raise over a dozen varieties of beans each year along with a couple staggered crops of corn, tomatoes (2 dozen varieties), peppers (isolated or caged), okra, squash (hand pollinated) and sunflower (bagged heads). For 2009 we were able to obtain bean seed contracts. For 2010 I am looking forward to a large growout of Cherokee White Flour Corn wich will include couple thousand plants instead of a few dozen as we have done in the past. On some of our productive and high quality crops, we will expand production and persue additional heirloom seed company contracts. ~Blueflint
