I am located in San Francisco East Bay. My adopted dogs work with me in the garden while my cat protests inside the window every day. We're located next to open fields so we're blessed with deers turky rabbits squirrels gophers racoons who share the landscape. I met a Mountain Lion face to face in my back yard once. I grow vegetables and bulbs in raised beds and most flowers in pots because that's the only way they can survive in my yard. I've grown tomato for over two decades but have been trying new vegetables in recent years with great delight. Growing vegetables has changed my lifestyle, diet, and health.
