Like most brownstones in Prospect Heights, I have a very large lot (131') with a garden that is 20'x70'. I have a formal garden with hundreds of bulbs, at least 18 different kinds of lilies, many perennials, bushes, raspberries, and an apple tree. The theme of my garden is blue and yellow, but these colors are not always so easy to achieve. I am forever searching to exchange any of my many plants for blue and lemon yellow flowers.
I am in the process of building a goldfish pond that will hopefully later include 3 small koi. I am looking to exchange any of my many perennials for aquatic plants as well as other land perennials and bushes.
I have a lot of extra: purple echinacea (cone flowers), violet German bearded iris (just beautiful), dark purple columbine, pure yellow black eyed susans, small bleeding hearts, purple foxglove (digitalis), purple hibiscus, pink & white tall phlox, purple loosestrife, blue asters, wisteria, philatis??? (tall bi-colored grass), wisteria, .... I have lots more but can't remember the names right now. I have several kinds of short non-flowering perennials that give you interesting color and texture, but I don't remember their names right now, e.g., dark purple, large leaved, Japanese perennial. I have this spreading perennial viney succulunt that looks great in a hanging pot. As for bushes, I have one traditional hydrangea bush, an orange campsis (trumpet vine),and a forsythia already potted, ready to go.
I am not comfortable sending plants by mail for several reasons and prefer exchanging plants with Brooklyn or Manhattan people, unless you want to come to my house from whereever.
I am looking for any kind of blue flowering bush or perennial, especially, lacecap hydrangeas, oxygenating plants, blue water lillies, blue lotuses, multi-colored evergreens, Nuccio's camellias, nigella, verbascum, hellebororous.... Since I love colors, I would also take anything with heavy/large white or lemon-yellow flowers.
I am forever searching to exchange any of my many plants for blue and ***LEMON*** yellow flowers.
Note, NYC is now zone 6-7.
