I have made the mistake of becomming an avid rose grower/exhibitor who lives in a cool foogy climate where all three major rose diseases can thrive at the same time! I'm 15 miles south of San Francisco and only 1 mile from the ocean. My hardiness zone is a big 10, but my heat zone is only 1-2. Summers are cool and foogy, but it almost never freezes in the winter. I'm a rose collector first and an exhibitor second. I grow 170 bushes or so of at least 160 different varieties. I grow all types of roses, everything from a couple of species to the latest exhibition varieties. I am a consulting rosarian, an accredited horticultural rose judge, and write the monthly consulting rosarian column for the San Francisco Rose Society's newsletter, the Rosarian. I also grow fuchsias, daylilies, succulents, junipers, artichokes and some assorted shrubs, ground covers and perenneials. I keep trying to grow tomatoes without much success. As far as I am concerned, deer are nothing more than "rats with hooves," and all gophers are minions of evil!

I live in: United States

My zone is: SF CA z10 hot2

My favorite forum 1 is Rose Exhibiting.

My favorite forum 2 is Roses.
