I was born at a young age on a farm in Europe, or so my parents tell me. We moved to Chicago when I was 3. My front and back yards were concrete, which made growing things very difficult.

I got married and moved to the suburbs to raise a family. I was surprised (and thrilled) to find out that I could actually plant things and theyd grow. I started out with grass; a big move up for an inner city kid.

Today, my wife and I have a couple of raised vegetable beds and various trees, shrubs and flowers. We consider ourselves amatuers and our garden a continuous work in progress.
