I am a boring, bookish person with a mania for gardening... Considering I live in the land of ice and snow (aka "Frostbite Falls"), this can be a challenge finding plants that can either survive the brutal winters outdoors or survive the brutal elements indoors (dry heat, pets that regard any form of 'greenery' as a 'salad bar', less than optimum light, etc.).
I grow scented leaved geraniums (Pelargoniums), rosemary, bananas, taccas, passiflora, fig trees (carica), bay trees and a few other 'tender' herbs (which winter inside-either in my studio or dormant in my garage) and old-fashioned/heirloom and rugosa roses, hardy herbs, bamboo and various dwarf fruits/bushes in my small yard. I try to grow any and everything as chemical-free and as organic as possible (much to the dismay of my neighbors-when it comes to my lawn)....
I've been reading and 'lurking' on this forum for the past couple of years...just recently 'joined'...(not being a 'joiner' by nature/inclination).

I live in: United States

My zone is: zone4Minnesota

My favorite forum 1 is Fig.

My favorite forum 2 is Banana.
