Grew up 4th generation Georgia farm family (yes, we proudly still have the farm);I hunt, sew,do crafts,love to cook, including canning & preserving; have this newfound obsesion to grow flowers and unusual plants just for their beauty and enjoyment intead of utilitarian. I guess that's one of the pleasures of being an empty nester....you actually have time for these!
Also, we just bought a house with acre & 1/2 yard, so enjoying the space to grow beautiful things!
