I grew up detesting plants as I was forced to do much of the work of planting, sodding, etc., at a house we built when I was ten. It was, and is, a very large yard. I developed an interest when I bought my first house and soon found myself to be such a 'natural' that one day I handed in my resignation at the bank and walked down the street in my suit and hired on at a local landscape construction company. The knowledge I gained from three years of that type of work has stood me well. I blew my back out a couple of years ago and cannot yet return to my latest profession of salesman, but I content myself with caring for a small collection of potted plants that most folks around here haven't tried or haven't heard of. Most of what I know (and it's not a whole lot, compared with some you encounter on the internet) is from experience, not classes.
