I'm a painter/writer gardener in Upstate NY, married to a co-gardener husband who does most of the really hard rock excavating, tree felling work. Our black lab Shadow regularly runs through our garden, particularly the newly planted parts. We have a 1860s farmhouse on two acres that we are slowly reclaiming from neglect.
