I am working on turning a very small, shady backyard from a disaster into a cottage/shade garden.

I love vegetable gardening (mainly the superior taste of homegrown) but have no sunny exposure for more than a few plants. Each year I try to have a tomatoe plant or two... with maybe a squash or a pepper. Perhaps I need to explore edibles that grow in the shade!

I have degenerative disc disease with a lot of back pain, so Accessible Gardening is becoming my favorite forum. My roommate has been doing most of the yard work for several years & I am afraid she has a black thumb.

My other hobbies/addictions are cruising the Internet, dabbling in online auctions & book sales, painting gourds, & weaving baskets.

OH! And every year at Halloween Some friends and I have a pumpkin carving party so if you would like for me to save you some pumpkin seed, email me. I save them and feed them to the birds or roast them most years, but would be more than glad to send some to a gardener instead. I usually end up with about a gallon of seed!
