I m a single Mother of 3 children. Two daughters, 18 and 10 years, and a son that is 2 years. My oldest daughter is having a baby in February of 2008. So I m going to be a Grandma while my 10 yr. old and 2 yr. old will be Aunties and Uncles. My son was born with some problems that have led to developmental delays and because of this I ve had to become a "stay-at-home" parent until the more severe problems have been fixed. (ie. he doesn t talk very much... just about 8 words or so). The downside to this is that I had to quit my job and go on assistance. The upside is that I get to spend an enormous amount of time with my younger children, something I couldn t do with my oldest. Despite things being tight financially I m finding this to be a "blessing in disguise". My children and I are closer than ever before and with me being home all the time I m actually seeing progress in my sons speech.
