We just relocated to Santa Fe, so I'm learning a different type of xeric-focused gardening. And a lot about drip systems. This area has had six years of drought, with no end in sight. Keeping plants alive takes perserverence until they are established. It is a beautiful state, with more varieties of birds than anyplace else I've lived. I am in the process of rehabilitating a pond that was here already, and in poor shape. It's astonishing the variety of critters that are discovering our yard as we create a diverse habitat for them.
