My truest love (obession???) is the fern. I aim to have as many ferns and as many different kinds of ferns as I can.

I also have a new passion for natives and things that arent COMMON around here. I like to have what other people Dont! (I was always the freak! LOL)

I have several elephant ears, they are my second favorite and when it starts getting warm in the spring I start itching to get my elephants ears planted. I refer to them as \"my big guys\". I now have Hilo beauty ( i think thats the name!), mickey mouse taro, illustris and black magic

Offer me some ferns, and usually I can find what you are looking for... or die trying!

I have 8 aunts, all gardeners, all very knowledgable and helpful if I have questions. We all share plants. We are all a very close family. My mom grows amazing tomatoes and cucumbers. My 8 yr old son is into gardening, every year he plants marigolds and sunflowers. He is so proud when they start growing. Unfortunately, I know someday he will become a teenage boy (*POUT*) and not want anything else to do with it, so I am appreciating him now. In 2002 he planted gladiolas for me when I couldnt because I just had a baby and it was a c-section and was restricted for 8 weeks NO DIGGING!!! (yeah, asif!! I think that lasted 3 weeks TOPS!!!) .

Update summer 2004, Well the baby is 30 months, and I have a new gardening pal. I usually cant find my hand gardening tools because he has stolen them to either play in his sand with or my dirt bucket (where i mix up my potting soil and peat mixture). He loves \"flowers\" and likes to stop on our walks and smell my ferns! Then he tells me \"ooohh mama, fwowers smell pretty!\" LOL. He also likes to throw my river rock from my path into the creek, as well as turn over the rocks on the garden path and edging to catch rollie pollies and worms!

Update 6/2005.. I got a job working at a nursery. I started off (in feb) just being a nursery girl.. aka watering, potting, customer service etc.. but I moved up to landscaper helper.. WHICH I LOVE! Not only am i getting a great tan and losing alot of weight and getting in shape..but learning ALOT of useful stuff as well! its just the best fun Ive ever had!! How many ppl can say they LOVE their job!!????!?!?! I CAN!!!!

Update 8-2006 Still at the nursery. Still love it. Learned alot last year. Am working on my own sometimes. Have a couple of clients of my own. Nothing really exciting in my world going on. I have listed my webshots album in my links, there are a few pics from a couple of jobs weve done, and there are a TON of pics from my home gardens. Im pretty proud of all my stuff. If you have a free minute, check out my pics.

Oh btw, if you are into woodland gardening and/or ferns, this is a very resourceful site and you should check it out!!
