Im a farmers daughter so I guess working with the land and plants runs in my blood. Gardening gives me so much joy and a new surprise everyday.

I live 40 miles SE of Raleigh NC on a hill. We dont have much shade due to our trees only being 5yrs old. Its hot and windy! I have one side of my house (NE side) that gets morning sun and shade in the afternoon. This is where I plant my impatients and other shade loving annuals. Most everything else are perennials that like the heat and wind with a few drought tolerant annuals mixed in.
