Retired to Taos where I teach tai chi to folks with special needs. Find myself trying to make things grow in Big Sage country at 7200' with soil used to make adobe bricks and a growing season measured in days.

We have an arroyo system for drainage which provides the bones of the landscape. I am exploring an ornamental grass garden -- we do have drip irrigation to supplement the 12 inches of rain annually. My vision is a Japanese garden using ornamental grass shapes which due triple duty -- erosion control and soil building.
