Hi - I like to call myself the "haphazard" or "accidental" gardener. But seriously, I have come a long way, I think, since the day, many years ago after buying my house with huge garden, I plunked a peony into the middle of my lawn - no soil prep - nothing. What I call the "cats’" garden has grown from that poor lonely peony to include day lilies, campanulas etc, that don’t seen to mind the presence of extra grass, or the presence of cats napping in the grassy foliage. A rather nice wild-looking circle of grass and flowers. But I have started two other more "serious" beds, and I have suddenly this summer become a little obsessed with starting plants from seeds, and I am anxious to try out winter sowing this year - I hope it will work in frosty Quebec! Our growing season is very short comparatively and so we have to make the most of it!
