Hi - I like to call myself the "haphazard" or "accidental" gardener. But seriously, I have come a long way, I think, since the day, many years ago after buying my house with huge garden, I plunked a peony into the middle of my lawn - no soil prep - nothing. What I call the "cats " garden has grown from that poor lonely peony to include day lilies, campanulas etc, that don t seen to mind the presence of extra grass, or the presence of cats napping in the grassy foliage. A rather nice wild-looking circle of grass and flowers. But I have started two other more "serious" beds, and I have suddenly this summer become a little obsessed with starting plants from seeds, and I am anxious to try out winter sowing this year - I hope it will work in frosty Quebec! Our growing season is very short comparatively and so we have to make the most of it!
