I have been a Certified California Nurseryman for 7 years and have worked in the nursery business for 12 years on the Central Coast of Calif. I order all the roses, bareroot fruit trees, bulbs, gifts and pottery for our nursery. I was a Master Gardener up on Whidbey Island, Washington in the late 80's. I teach rose classes at a local junior college and write a monthly gardening column for a local publication. I am a Master Nursery Professional (whatever that means!) and have been a member of the American Rose Society for 2 years and have recently joined the Santa Barbara Rose Society. I hope to become a Consulting Rosarian next year. I have 4 acres in Nipomo, about an hour north of Santa Barbara and live in a hole where temps can reach down to 17 degrees in a bad year. I grow cherries easily, but have a hard time with the semi-tropicals. I have 70 + roses and am always interested in new ideas to pass on to myself as well as to my students. I have a great sense of humor and my son is an MP in the Army in Baghdad.
