Grew up in aptly named Rockland County, NY. I now garden in central NJ.

You'll never hear me complain about heavy, clay soil - I'm just thrilled to be able to put a shovel in the ground and not have my teeth rattle.

My backyard has become a laboratory as I try to discover what can grow under the black walnut (in addition to hostas, ferns and astilbe) I inherited when I move to my home a year and a half ago.
