My husband and I are avid gardeners enjoying raising many varieties of perennials and daylilies. I enjoy trading plants that I have for new varieties and my primary love in the garden is collecting hybrid daylilies. We also enjoy many varieties of perennials. And I just cannot seem to have enough Sweet Williams, zinnias, marigolds and quite a few other flowering annuals. If it is pretty and easy to grow, I want to try it!
Hobbies include raising hair sheep and horses. I enjoy free-lance writing and most of my publishings have been about our animals!
We garden pretty much organically so having the livestock is a plus for us. Our sheep are a joy especially during lambing when every day I go our to the barn and open the door and there is a new babe with their momma.
Our horses are special. They are of Spanish decent and very smooth gaited. They don't jar your bones because they do not trot! We have a mini-horse who pulles a little wagon and helps me with chores in the garden especially when it comes to moving potted plants, woodchips or what not out to the beds. Our garden is actually designed in a trail for him to follow! One of our horses is not a horse at all, but a donkey! He is our Sentinnel and will usually give a loud brey when any intruder, be it friend or foe comes to our yard! I would like to add to our managery some other animaals, but right now, the mouths we are feeding are quite enough!
I am a disabled gardener and horseman so it makes for what I do interesting at best with my challenges! I am a work at home "mom" and self-employed.
I have been swapping plants and seed for many years and have met many wonderful friends along the garden path of life! Hope to "meet" some of you!
