My husband and I bought a foreclosure two years ago and never dreamed that the landscaping would be the most challenging - and rewarding - undertaking. I have prevailed over my local HOA and stripped up the front lawn and converted it to all flowering xeric perennials (color galore!). We have finally vanquished the six-foot-high thistle from the backyard and hope to plant that in after hardscaping in summer '05. I have attended many classes on Xeriscaping via the Denver Water Board and am now developing a permanent shoulder slump from carrying gardening books home from the library. :) Love to discuss perennials, design, and Xeriscaping that goes beyond rocks and junipers!
