A z9 native, I have been relocated to z7. I am still suffering from mild transplant shock. :) My husband and I recently bought our first home in a suburban neighborhood. I am planning to eventually have 4 ornamental beds, 1 cutting bed, 1 herb bed, 2 raised veggie beds, a pond and a greenhouse. Everything is being done with the goal of being respectful to the environment, building the soil, encouraging wildlife, creating something aesthetically pleasing and not spending a lot of money. I will be using a lot of recycled/repurposed materials in a relaxed "cottage" style. I love vining plants, culinary and medicinal herbs and native plants (especially edibles!).

I have been lucky enough to move into a neighborhood where there are a few experienced DE-native gardeners who are willing to share the benefit of their knowledge with me. Any folks who know of good local sources of organic farm/gardening supplies, plant sales, swaps or giveaways please contact me. I would be grateful for your input.

Happy gardening!!
