I am a park interpretive naturalist. I have been a life-long gardener following in my dads foot prints. We use to grow cucumbers for a pickle company - boy I hated picking those prickly suckers! Got in more cuke fights than you can imagine!
Today I have a small suburban homestead with a vegatable, native plants and shade gardens in the back yard and a perennial / cut flower garden on the side, rock and dry creek bed gardens in the front yard. My goal is to minimize mowing! I have developed a large focal point garden at the park I work. I like astronomy, geology, and photography. I pick up my best garden rock at quarries and mines.
