I've been gardening in Alaska for about eight years. I finally took the Master Gardener class Spring of 2002. Mostly I grow vegetables, bulbs and perrenials, but I'm learning to appreciate annuals for color. I really enjoy growing unusual vegetables that are rarely, if ever, available in our supermarkets. We are building a new house which should be done in July 2005 and I am looking forward to a clean slate! It will be exciting to start over with my own ideas instead of trying to accomodate my needs with someone else's idea of what a garden should be. Our new garden will be in a warmer area of town so this opens a whole new world!
