My husband and I live in Homewood (Bham area), have 2 college age kids, and 2 canine kids - a rat terrier and a boston terrier. Since being "downsized" last fall, I have been steadily working on projects in the yard, and throughout the house. I love being in the outside air. Currently I am working on grading my sloped backyard. Eventually we will replace the back portion of the fence to make it more secure for our dogs. The backyard gets only part-sun, and I am able to grow ferns, hosta, solomons seal, and gardenias. Containers of impatiens, begonia, salvia and marigold do well.
