I live in Southern Illinois, a very picturesque and laid back area of the USA. What I like most about Southern Illinois is the natural beauty, including many nice parks, such as Garden of the Gods, Giant City State Park, and Ferne Cliff State Park. These are nice places for hiking, camping, or picnicking with the family. These areas are part of the Shawnee National Forest which is also part of the Trail of Tears.

We also are home to many fine award-winning wineries and vineyards, such as the Alto Pass and Pomona Wineries.

My profession is mainframe systems programmer at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. This is also where I obtained my Computer Science Degree. We have many successful graduates, one of which is actor Dennis Franz. Even the inventor of the Geodesic Dome, Buckminster Fuller, was once a visiting professor here.

I grew up in Benton, Illinois, which is also home to actor John Malkovich and basketball coach Doug Collins.

I've been gardening since 1996. My main crop is tomatoes, but I also grow just about all other garden vegetables, plus herbs and flowers.

I also enjoy (as a glutton for punishment) canning tomatoes, salsa, hot sauce, spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, pickles, peppers, and green beans in order to show off the fruits of my labor of love.
