I've got a large block of land that has been neglected by the previous owners. Apart from a wonderful grove of gum trees in the south-west corner of the lot, there's not a lot growing.

My challenges include heavy clay soil, a variety of micro-climes and winds.

I'm interested in a tropical/lush look for the final result.

I'm a new gardener, and this is my first house. I've been reading a lot and am starting to propagate my own plants. If you have any tips, please let me know.

Also, I am interested in cheap sources of plants (aren't we all!) and so if you know of discount nurseries or backyard sellers around the Gold Coast/Brisbane metropolis, please let me know. I may be able to exchange some information with you for our mutual benefit.

I live in: Australia

My zone is: SEQld
