I live on the outskirts of Sequim, WA, on the Olympic Peninsula (Sunset Zone 5). We are in a rainshadow of the Olympic Mountains, so central Sequim gets an average of only 16 inches of rain a year, which qualifies it as desert and makes it the driest west coast area north of Los Angeles! Where I live, we get about 18 to 20 inches a year. Victoria, British Columbia is directly across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north, and we have much the same climate.
I have been a vegetable gardener most of my life, but have started growing ornamentals recently. My 15-year-old cat, Pepe', keeps me company when I garden.
I live in: United States
My zone is: PNW USDA8
