Any good tips on getting grass to grow where my 114 y/o, 90 foot pine trees used to live? I was forced to take them down. Of course, TONS of roots and HUGE trunks....they were ground by a machine and I tried to remove as much of that mulch as possible. Brought in some dirt (probably not enough) and planted with grass early last fall. Not much has grown there, except for clumps of crab grass....what tiny sprouts of grass that did germinate look yellow-ish and wimpy. All suggestions appreciated!
