Blackberry bushes in wetlands?

MyHomelife

First please let me apologize if I didn't find the appropriate forum for this question. I couldn't find any forums about wetlands & this one describe it the best.

My question is this:

We just purchased our first home & with it came a beautiful piece of land that has been deemed partial wetlands. were not 100% sure if all of it is because its entrapped in blackberry bushes. I have been searching for weeks now to find out if its ok for us to get rid of them (without chemicals of course) or are they a native plant to wetlands around Washington state?

I haven't been able to find a single article that didn't have someone talking about how they can't build on there land. We don't want to destroy or build on it. We want to revive it to its natural state. But, first things first can we get rid of all those blackberry bushes?
